April 30th

Skyeler and Rory the day after the Senior Trip.
She was wore out, but had a great time!
She was, however, happy to be back with her kitties and her own bed :)

Patch the Pirate Performance

Noelle was reciting I Corinthians 13 which she memorized.
I don't have a better picture of the group because I took a video with my camera instead.

Skyeler is done with Algebra II.
I have a lot of grading to do.
Grading math is not on my fun list!

Dan received the 2012 Boston Marathon Race Results card in the mail from the Boston Athletic Association.  I think he did amazing!

Skyeler leaves for her Senior Trip tomorrow.
This is her pile of snacks that we bought, along with some of the other necessities.
She is really nervous, but I think she will have a great time once she gets going.
Happy Packing!

Romeo and Juliet license plates.
This was one of our  fun Romeo and Juliet projects for Shakespeare class.
I think they did a great job!

I need to come up with something creative to do when I miss a  picture!

Aly's One-Point Perspective drawing.

Today was co-op day.  In art class the kids finished up their One-Point Perspective drawings.  This art lesson was a huge hit.  It ended up being an easy concept to grasp, and a few of the girls were reproducing it on their own.  (I love it when they do that!)  I was more than pleased with all their results.  I love it when a lesson goes as planned!

Bags of Books.
Today was the last day of the library's semi-annual book sale.
I *heart* bags of books.
Especially when each bag of lovely reading material only cost me $1.
I *heart* bags of books for $1.
The green bag is Skyeler's.  The blue bag is Aly's. The flower bag is mine.
I *heart* that my kids inherited my love of books.
I think we might need more bookshelves.
I *heart* bookshelves.

Dan and Aly before the race

Aly has been wanting to run a 5K for a while.  However, training time has been sporadic.  Today was the annual 5K and parade in our church community.  The church has participated in the parade for a couple years, and a few people have even run the 5K.  Dan has before.  This year Dan, Aly, Sharon, Doug, Lewis, Michelle, Priscilla, and Lorin ran.  (I am NO runner).  Dan wasn't racing for time because he was still recovering from the Boston.  He ran the race with Aly.  She was SO excited to do this.

And they are off...Dan, Aly, Priscilla and you can see a little bit of Michelle and Lorin.  Doug, Sharon, and Lewis were right behind them.  I should take this opportunity to point out that Skyeler and Victoria walked the 5K.  They started in the back.

Aly crossing the finish line by the timer.  That's 33 minutes and 52 seconds.  She ran the whole way!  No stops for walking or anything.  We were so proud of her.  After he crossed the finish line, Dan went back and ran with each of our friends as they crossed the line.  Lorin and Sharon and I think Lewis had already finished by this time.  I should take this opportunity to mention that Skyeler came in dead last.  She did walk the whole thing with Tori but walk might be too strong of a word.  Amble may be better LOL!

Another day missed.
I'm wondering, looking at my calendar, if this is the beginning of the end of the Picture a Day idea.  I can't believe how crazy life is between now and the end of June.  I guess we will see.

My Lily of the Valley is blooming.
For someone with absolutely, positively NO green thumb,
I sure am excited about my blooming flowers and plants this year.
I think there is a reason green is my favorite color...spring and summer are full of it.

Today we recuperated from our travels to Boston.
We were all tired from the long trip.
Too tired to take a picture I guess ;)
